Georges Marciano Candidate for Governor of California

About Georges Marciano:

Georges Marciano, co-founder of Guess announced his candidacy for Governor of the great State of California. Marciano is the esteemed creator, designer and former part-owner of the internationally successful Guess, Inc.  Marciano seeks political office with a mission for transparency in Government and wants to bring economic prosperity and jobs to all citizens in the State of California.

Marciano began, as a hard working young boy, in Marseilles, France as a boy designing silk neckties and selling them door-to-door. In 1977, Marciano moved to California to enter the American market and Bloomingdales, as a favor, took two dozen pairs of his unconventional three-zipper jeans called “Marilyn”. They sold in a few hours.  A fashion revolution began that continues today and Marciano earned the privilege having the American Dream.

Marciano is the epitome of the American Dream. He came to California with only Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000), a dream and an idea to create a successful company.  Marciano created thousands of jobs for California citizens and maintained his integrity along the way.  In fact, Marciano insisted on having ALL of his manufacturing in the United States.  More importantly, the manufacturing was to be done in Los Angeles, California which created thousands of jobs and brought economic prosperity to numerous California citizens.

Pioneer creative mind and visionary marketing man, Marciano decided to imprint his ideas to new collections that would complete the award winning GUESS? Look.  By translating the style and comfort of his adult lines into remarkable clothes for children, Marciano won the hearts of parents and style conscious kids. The GUESS? Kid’s collection won more awards for Marciano and his team.

Always using powerful, commitment to quality, groundbreaking images, his brother Paul Marciano produced sophisticated, riveting black and white cinematic television GUESS commercials modeled after the classic American film The Last Picture Show.  The 60 second spot entitled “The Misfits” won three international awards.

Perfecting this image, he perfected the GUESS? Boutiques as exclusive “stores within stores” representing collaborations between fashion and architecture in the most prestigious department stores in the world.

Marciano goes beyond Fashion

After giving his focus on creating the GUESS?, inventing its style, collection after collection, award after award, Marciano decided to venture in real estate.

In 1993, Marciano sold his 40% of GUESS? shares to his three brothers and received one check for Two Hundred Forty Millions Dollars ($240,000,000.00) to his three brothers and went on to build a real estate empire. Among other ventures, he developed a Beverly Hills office tower called the “Power Tower“- a post-Hollywood center for top agents, directors, producers and investment Bank of America in the California entertainment industry.

“Let’s dream again, let’s not give up hope instead we together can create jobs for the citizens of California instead of simply creating and imposing higher taxes for the average citizen and not the wealthy. All of which are wasted dollars which the State of California needs so badly” remarks Marciano.

Candidate Marciano does not need nor does he seek political power or fame. Marciano simply wants to devote this part of his life to political service, promoting equality, justice and economic prosperity for EVERYONE as citizens of California.  “As President Obama said, “We are living the American Dream in reverse.”  That is why Marciano for Governor is the ideal solution for the State of California because Marciano knows how to create jobs, bring transparency to all government offices, and build economic prosperity for all citizens in the State of California.
